Rumor: Call of Duty Modern Warfare Leaks Confirm Battle Royale, Gun Game, and More

call of duty modern warfare leaks battle royale gun game infected

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be out this October, but most of the game is still being kept underwraps by Infinity Ward. So far, we've only really gotten a good look at the campaign, with multiplayer and the co-op Spec Ops mode only hinted at by the developers. But now a new leak may have revealed some more information about what to expect from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer, including the inclusion of a battle royale mode.

This leak comes from YouTube channel TheGamingRevolution, which has a history of accurately leaking Call of Duty news. Citing an anonymous source, TheGamingRevolution claims that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have a battle royale mode, and that the developers have even experimented with doing a combination of Infected and battle royale so that zombies are in the game in at least some capacity.

Speaking of zombies, the leaker also claims that a dedicated Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was planned at some point, but was scrapped about a year and a half ago. Thanks to campaign director Jacob Minkoff, we know that Zombies was removed from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare because it clashed with the rest of the game's sense of realism.

Meanwhile, the Call of Duty community has responded negatively to the prospect of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare having a battle royale mode. In an effort to appease disgruntled fans, TheGamingRevolution's source offered some more information on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that should be good news to fans of classic Call of Duty.

Apparently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is bringing back the Pave Low Killstreak, last seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Furthermore, it will feature the popular match type Gun Game, as well as the Infected match type (apparently separate from the Infected Battle Royale that was mentioned in the original video).

Before fans get too worked up about these Call of Duty: Modern Warfare leaks, though, we must stress that this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Yes, TheGamingRevolution has a track record of accurately leaking Call of Duty news, but it's still possible that their source is mistaken or intentionally misleading them. As always, it's best to wait for official word from Activision or Infinity Ward.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will launch on October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
