Earlier this month, YouTube channel TheGamingRevolution leaked that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would be bringing back killstreaks instead of sticking strictly to scorestreaks like most recent Call of Duty games. Now Infinity Ward itself has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is bringing back killstreaks, revealing three killstreaks ahead of the multiplayer showcase on August 1.

The first killstreak revealed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one that has been hinted at in the past. As many guessed from screenshots released by Infinity Ward at E3 2019, players will once again be able to don the Juggernaut suit as one of their killstreaks in the game.

Besides the Juggernaut suit, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer players will also have access to an Infantry Assault Vehicle (basically a tank) as well as White Phosphorus that will blind enemies and burn anyone unlucky enough to get too close. Infinity Ward stopped short of revealing just how many kills in a row players would have to get to use these particular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare killstreaks, but they seem like ones that will require a decent number of kills to activate.

The reveal of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer killstreaks should keep players satisfied until the proper multiplayer reveal on August 1. It's then that Infinity Ward and Activision plan to pull the curtain back on everything Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer has to offer, including the rest of the killstreaks, new game modes, maps, and more.

In the meantime, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare enthusiasts may already have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the game's multiplayer mode. While the confirmation of killstreaks returning doesn't fully legitimize TheGamingRevolution's other leaks, it certainly makes them more credible, so it's possible that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will feature Gun Game, Infection, and a particularly massive battle royale mode.

Luckily, fans won't have to rely on leaks and rumors for their Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer news for much longer. August 1 is right around the corner, and it's then when much of the rumor and speculation surrounding the game will be put to rest.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
