Call of Duty is one of the biggest video game franchises in the world, and Modern Warfare is the latest installment in the popular shooter franchise. Activision has taken a page out of Fortnite’s book and launched Season One for the game, which brings a slew of free content to the shooter, including a Battle Pass. The new season offers plenty of content to keep players busy for hours on end.

One of these latest modes is the Infected, where one infected player hunts down and turns any survivors they find. Players that are killed by an infected will turn into an infected themselves, and if all of the survivors are turned, the Infected win the game. The Survivor team wins if at least one of the survivor remains alive when the timer ends. The Infected are armed with just a knife, but they have high mobility, which allows them to cover long distances quickly. Survivors, on the other hand, have regular weapons, which include a model 680 shotgun, so they need to get close to shoot the infected.

Sadly, the Infected game mode is not available for public matches at the time, so not everyone will be able to play the mode. Those who want to play it will have to create or join a custom match, which means players will need to invite a bunch of friends to enjoy the new mode together. It’s quite easy to access and start a game in the new Infected mode, so here’s how to do it in Modern Warfare.

How to Play Infected Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

To play the Infected mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, head over to the multiplayer menu and create a private or a custom lobby, then select Alternate Modes by pressing R2/RT buttons and a new menu will pop-up. Infected will be available as an Alternative mode in the new menu, so just select it to start a game. Once selected, all players have to do is invite other players to join their private lobby, and the game will start when there are enough players for the mode.

At the moment, this is the only way to access Modern Warfare’s Infected mode, and there are no details regarding when the mode will be out for public matches, but of course, the mode will be out soon. However, those who are keen on trying out the new mode can follow the instructions mentioned above to enjoy a fresh new experience in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Season 1 is out now and will end on January 28.
