Infinity Ward has proven to the Call of Duty community that there's still room in the franchise for innovation by adding never before seen game modes. For example, DMZ is a Tarkov-inspired game mode that lets players fight against AI enemies while trying to unlock unique guns and operator skins, like the Biohazard Skin.

IW also decided to expand the co-op features of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by adding new Spec-Ops missions and Tier Kits. In addition to Spec-Ops, IW has announced a new co-op experience: Raids. But, to unlock Raids, players must obtain a Raid Key, which may be more challenging than it sounds.

Raids are set to release alongside Season 1 Reloaded on December 14th.

Raids Explained

Players familiar with Spec Ops will notice that Raids are quite similar in terms of gameplay (objectives and intel) and even share certain features, like Tier Kits. Raids will continue the events of the campaign, rather than "off the book" missions that aren't part of the MW2 storyline like those in the Spec Ops game mode.

The first Raid (Atomgrad) will feature Price, Farah, and Gaz entering a secure facility and uncovering a "grim discovery." Players will earn rewards for completing Raids and unlock higher-difficulty Raid options. But, before players can access Raids, they'll need to obtain a Raid Key.

Getting A Raid Key

Once players acquire a Raid Key, they'll have access to it for One Week. After which, they'll have to obtain the Raid Key again if they want to play more. Only one player needs a Raid Key to enter, so players with a squad can rotate who obtains the weekly Raid Key, so they always have access to Raids.

Complete a Specific Daily Challenge

The first way players can acquire a Raid Key is by completing a specific Daily Challenge (Multiplayer or Spec Ops). Most likely these Challenges will change every week, so players can expect to either get a certain number of kills in Multiplayer (the EBR-14 can help with that) or earn a certain number of Stars in Spec Ops.

Place Within the Top 20 in Warzone 2

Warzone 2 fans will enjoy the second method of obtaining the Raid Key since it involves them placing within the top 20 in a Warzone 2 match. As for those struggling with this BR will want to brush up on some tips about winning a Warzone 2 match before attempting this Challenge.

Extract on the Final Helicopter with $30,000 in DMZ

Extracting in DMZ is one of the most dangerous things players can do since the unforgiving AI enemies will mow down players with eagle-eye precision. So, players that attempt this Challenge will want to play extra cautiously without drawing too much attention. Fortunately, getting $30,000 isn't much of an issue with the number of contracts players can complete.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
