Launching last year to rave reviews, it seems Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has gone somewhat silent over the last few months due to the emergence of Call of Duty: WarzoneHowever, players looking to escape the game's battle royale focus have established a very consistent community surrounding last year's major Call of Duty release regardless, with fans continuing to play the game despite Warzone slowly but surely dominating the multiplayer scene.

However, It seems many have noticed a new issue with the game in the past few days, with several social media users finally uncovering the problem in more depth. According to new data, it seems Modern Warfare's various updates have slowly but surely been tampering heavily with the game's controller aim, with some noticing that severe input lag and poor aim assist were making it harder to play the console versions of the game.

Reddit user Spiritual Biskit has since done a lengthy break down on exactly how bad these changes to controller aim have been, with the player discovering that input lag has been becoming increasingly worse through each of the game's various patches. For those who aren't aware, input lag refers to how long it takes for a player's button input to take effect in-game, and can lead to a number of frustrating issues in a multiplayer shooter as heavily-based around reaction time as Modern WarfareAccording to Spiritual Biskit "There has been a 300ms to 450ms increase in input latency," which the Reddit user blames on "unrefined patches." They go on to claim that the issue likely is "either due to junk assets or due to frame buffers which I suspect they increased from 1 or 2 frames to 3 or 4."

Alongside that, it seems other players are finding issues with the game's aim assist, with one fan even sharing a video on Twitter that showcases how the new patch had made vertical aim assist incredibly strong and horizontal aim assist practically non-existent. The video was captured on a PlayStation 4, with many also agreeing that it seems controller aim has suffered tenfold through the game's most recent patch.

No doubt these issues will need to be worked on soon, with the game having millions of console players who have no choice but to experience the title with a controller. It seems Modern Warfare fans aren't alone, however, with Warzone players picking up on a number of major issues with the game in recent months as well, including hackers and significant glitches among other issues.
