Infinity Ward has published a new patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare across all platforms. This patch fixes tons of persisting issues and gave an immediate fix to some new bugs and errors noticed by fans.

This midweek update comes directly after several problems were reported across the game. The developers were quick to respond to the persistent issues and have made some minor adjustments for balancing across multiple guns. Although some of the fixes are minor, a major Warzone weapon bug has been resolved within this update.

The new patch has been implemented across all platforms bringing fixes to a multitude of small issues. The Bruen MK9 is seeing a nerf to its core features and attatchments with increased recoil in multiple spots. The Bruen MK9 has dominated the game's meta for several weeks with this nerf targeting its strongest features. Bruen MK9 fans are going to have to reconsider their choice as recoil increases and damage falls on this beloved LMG. Fixes for other weapons were also implemented, helping to balance some persisting problems in Warzone and Modern Warfare. The exploit near Prison has been repaired and the High Alert perk no longer has a VO response.

The weapon fix is the biggest part of this update. The Bruen MK9 also saw a large nerf in this patch. LMGs are naturally prone towards torso damage and high recoil, the developers have no added an increase in weapon recoil and reduced the torso damage of the weapon. To make matters even harder for LMG fans, the fan-favorite builds using the 60 Round Magazine will find that the weapon has an increased recoil forcing fans to decide on ammo capacity versus overall accuracy of the weapon. The Bruen MK9 has been a fan favorite meta weapon since its launch, as a long range favorite the additional recoil and lesser damage makes it a less appealing choice when placed side by side with an Assault Rifle or other LMGs.

Another impactful nerf is the underbarrel shotgun that has been causing problems with the FR 5.56 was on multiplayer and Warzone matches. The FR 5.56 problem was so severe that Modern Warfare developers confirmed that the fix would be in the next patch. As promised, the fix has appeared at the top of the patch notes for August 20th.

Season 5 content has been relatively successful among fans. With every new weapon there is a phase of balances that must be applied to try and keep the new weapons relevant without overtaking older guns. The ISO submachine gun has received mixed reviews since launch, hopefully this patch will give it the extra push that it needed to become a stronger weapon and maybe break the current meta.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
