Ninjas in Pyjamas a.k.a NiP is a Swedish esports organization with teams competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DotA 2, and more. NiP’s Chief Marketing Officer, Casey Al-Kaisy, who’s also the former Global Brand Manager at EA said that EA needs to “up their Battlefield game” in regards to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal.

It’s no secret that Infinity Ward has been very successful at generating lots of hype around their upcoming Modern Warfare game. All of the attention has led the former EA employee to think that it’s time Battlefield comes out with something new in response to the latest Call of Duty game.

Al-Kaisy feels that with the all-new 100-player multiplayer mode, Modern Warfare is going towards more Battlefield-like gameplay while EA’s top-FPS is more focused on aesthetics and graphical superiority. “I can guarantee that Call of Duty is going to go full Battlefield as time goes,” tweeted Al-Kaisy. “EA DICE will need to step it up. Enough with visual focus, people care about gameplay.”

It looks like the former employee knows that people don’t really care about visuals, they really want superior gameplay, and so far, Infinity Ward has proven that the new Modern Warfare will go out of the way and deliver completely new gameplay that’s going to surprise the fans in a very positive way.

For a long time now, Call of Duty has been focused on small-scale combat with fast-paced action, while Battlefield, on the other hand, has offered an all-out war feeling with large maps, vehicle-based combat, and explosive gameplay. However, with the release of Modern Warfare’s new 100-play multiplayer mode, it seems like Infinity Ward is finally dropping the standard COD-gameplay and venturing out into a larger battlefield. It’s also important to note that Modern Warfare will possibly skip the Battle Royale-mode in favor of the “Ground War” mode.

It remains to be seen how the fans of the series actually react when the game finally comes out. Skipping the Battle Royale mode altogether does not seem like a wise choice, but Infinity Ward’s multiplayer design director Joe Cecot had a different opinion regarding the Battle Royale mode. "We really focused on Modern Warfare, authentic and gritty, realistic weapons, and it’s a different experience," said Cecot in an interview, adding that, when boiled down, it's "about pulling back to Modern Warfare and keeping that pure."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is releasing October 25, 2019, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
