Infinity Ward has released a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that should be rolling out to PC, PS4, and Xbox users right now. The update doesn't make any significant changes and shouldn't require a download on players' part as it just updates the available playlists, however, there are some notable playlist changes that fans should keep in mind.

The new Call of Duty; Modern Warfare update adds Cyber Attack Pro, Face-Off, Gunfight Blueprints, and the Season 5 Moshpit. Out of those, arguably the most notable is the Season 5 Moshpit, as it features new Season 5 maps almost exclusively. Face-Off is also interesting as it features 3v3 Gunfight gameplay and maps combined with match types that are usually reserved for 6v6 game modes.

Call of Duty: Warzone, meanwhile, has removed Plunder Quads and Solos Buy Back, replacing them with standard BR Solos and Plunder: Blood Money. This decision will likely upset some members of the Call of Duty: Warzone community, as some prefer pure Plunder over Blood Money, and the Solos Buy Back mode has proven to be quite popular. However, with Call of Duty playlists changing on a near-weekly basis, it's possible that fans will get to play them again sooner rather than later.

While Warzone fans don't have any big changes to note in this latest update, though, there is still more content for fans to look forward to later in the week. Tomorrow marks the last day of the Call of Duty 2020 teases, which have included Activision releasing new Warzone codes that players can use to open doors and bunkers throughout the battle royale map. Unless Activision changes things up, it's quite likely that August 19 will see Warzone players being able to get into a previously inaccessible area with loot and more Call of Duty 2020 clues.

Looking further ahead, more substantial updates are on the horizon for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As usual, Activision has a big mid-Season 5 update in the works, which should add new game modes, maps, weapons, and more, though specific details on that have yet to be revealed. Season 6 will likely follow after that, which should be an even bigger update for the game.

The support for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in terms of new content will likely slow down later this year when Call of Duty 2020 launches, but fans can expect Warzone to keep getting new content on a regular basis. Activision plans on Warzone being a "constant" for the Call of Duty franchise moving forward, so it will likely receive new content for years to come.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
