Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's 2v2 alpha on PlayStation 4 is going excellently. Feedback from the Call of Duty community has been positive and Infinity Ward has been both responsive and transparent regarding issues. The studio's Day Two recap, covering the alpha through Friday, detailed fixes and ongoing issues. It also confirmed plans to introduce a new map and 2v2 variant mode to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha.

Rolling out soon is another of the five maps Infinity Ward will be making accessible during this weekend's alpha. Stack is a converted version of a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 6v6 map, shrunk to befit the 2v2 Gunfight mode. The map features a training range built in a desert area. Both teams start on a raised balcony that folds out into the main area via ramps and sidepaths. In the center is a raised platform that divides visibility on the map, designed to encourage teams to flank their opponents.

Also rolling out soon will be a new 2v2 mode variant. Up until now, players have only had access to the Rules of Engagement variant, a straight forward experience where both teams try to eliminate the other for victory. The new variant, Pickup, adds a layer of battle royale-style looting to the mode. Players start with just a pistol. They'll have to hunt down other weapons and equipment that's been spread throughout the map.

Beyond that, Infinity Ward is continuing to work on several issues. Some of those issues include settings not saving properly in Modern Warfare's options menu, first-person footstep audio being too loud, enemy nameplates being visible behind cover, and issues with the black and white screen that occurs at low-health. These issues and more are being evaluated by Infinity Ward and should be fixed or altered between now and the game's launch.
