Now that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been out for a few months, the rumor mill has turned its attention to the next game in the series, currently expected to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Some supposedly leaked info on the game is now making the rounds on the Internet, including the claim that the campaign will be a remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 instead of a completely original experience.

According to the rumor, posted on Twitter by popular YouTuber Chaos, the remastered version of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's single player will consist of will not include the infamous No Russian mission. For the uninitiated, No Russian is one of the most controversial missions in Call of Duty history, and sees the player take the role of a double agent terrorist that mows down crowds of people in an airport.

The "leaked" info also claims that a remaster of the Modern Warfare 3 campaign may be added to Modern Warfare 4 at a later date. If true, this would make it much easier for gamers with modern hardware to play through the entire Modern Warfare saga.

Besides campaign details, the leaked information also offers details on other aspects of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Apparently the game will feature Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Battle Royale, with the latter being similar in scope to what we've seen with Black Ops 4's Blackout mode. As for Multiplayer, the Pick 10 system is coming back, and Specialists will also be making their return.

Before fans get too excited or disappointed by any of this information, we must stress that this "leak" should be taken with a massive grain of salt. There is absolutely no proof that any of this is real, and in fact, there's a good chance that it's fake. However, it's worth pointing out that this isn't the first time we've heard rumblings about Modern Warfare 4.

Previous rumors have indicated that Call of Duty 2019 is Modern Warfare 4, so that part of the leak is a little easier to believe. However, it's possible that this year's Call of Duty is something else entirely. Ultimately, fans will have to wait for Activision and Infinity Ward to share more information to be sure one way or another.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is rumored to be in development for unspecified consoles.
