There's a trend of remasters and remakes currently that is bringing back some of gaming's best. There's a rumor going around that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may be jumping on that bandwagon. However, it won't be a remaster of the entire game, just its campaign.

The source of this rumor comes from ModernWarzone, a Twitter account dedicated to leaks and news for all things Call of Duty. The account claims there are reports that a Modern Warfare 3 campaign remaster is in development. This lines up with similar reports from all the way back in April that said the remaster will be a timed PS4 exclusive. While that portion isn't part of the current rumor mill, another is. Both rumors say that multiplayer will not be part of the remaster.

That wouldn't come as a surprise, considering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered didn't include the game's multiplayer either. Activision didn't outright explain the reasons for this, but most attributed it to the assumption that the developer didn't want to take attention away from its current lineup of games. At this point, there's no official confirmation on the rumor from Activision. Time will tell if this all pans out.

Another leak is circulating for the aforementioned current lineup; specifically for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Oddly, it doesn't come from an outside source, but from within the game itself. Occasionally, when loading a match, a message will display at the bottom of the screen that mentions a new Dropkick mode. This mode does not currently exist within the game, nor has it been in a previous title in the franchise. There are no details on how the mode will play, but some believe it may be similar to another mode from the past: Headquarters.

It may be long past the spookiest season of the year, but a Zombies mode recently became available for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Players are having a lot of fun with this mode and have been using it to get a ton of weapon XP. An invincibility glitch in Zombies is countering the mode's intended design since it is all about surviving hordes of difficult enemies. While some groups may not want to exploit the glitch to keep things fair, easter egg hunters will find it beneficial to explore the map without worry.

The game recently received an update that added a Hardcore Nuketown. Players can find it in the Hardcore tab in Quick Play. The update also fixed many of the issues causing crashes, which is a relief to players who have been experiencing them. Additionally, around the same time, the update was made available, a Nuketown '84 map released. It is a retro version of the popular level that launched alongside a Nuketown Weapon Bundle.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
