A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 player managed to destroy a counter-UAV with a drill charge. Modern Warfare 2 introduced some fresh or different elements to Call of Duty, as it came with a completely redone UI and a new perk system along with other changes.

Like the rest of the series, players have access to a wide variety of weapons and equipment in a match of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The drill charge is a new piece of lethal equipment available to fans, and it can be quite useful in killing enemies behind walls and cover points. Now, one Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 player uses a drill charge to destroy a killstreak.

A Reddit user named Professional-Gas628 is playing a match of Modern Warfare 2 on Shipment, and they notice a counter-UAV right above them upon spawning. Professional-Gas628 immediately throws a drill charge at the counter-UAV, which explodes after a second or two, destroying the opponent’s killstreak. Professional-Gas628 had earned a regular UAV earlier in the game, and they were now able to use it without it going to waste.

Some players discuss the long throw distance of drill charges, while one gamer mentions that they are useful against everything except for opponents hiding behind a riot shield. A few fans mention that drill charges can sometimes kill Modern Warfare 2 players using a riot shield, so it seems to be inconsistent in this regard. It looks like some players also have balance issues with the drill charge piece of equipment.

One Call of Duty fan wonders how effective a drill charge would be against a VTOL in Modern Warfare 2. Other players comment on them doing damage to a VTOL, but not being able to destroy the killstreak. This is supported by one gamer who mentions hitting the same VTOL with four drill charges in a match on Shipment, but states that it was not enough to destroy it. Another user claims that thermite makes VTOL Jets easier to take down.

The Shipment map was recently added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as a part of Season 1 Reloaded. Shoot House was added at the beginning of the season alongside the release of Warzone 2, so fans of Call of Duty multiplayer will only get two maps in Season 1. Both of these maps are remakes of existing ones, and a new leak points to Modern Warfare 2 getting another recycled map in Season 2 with Castle.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
