A playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 adds Shoot the Ship to its multiplayer mode. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 came out with a decent selection of maps, and Activision added fan-favorite maps Shoot House and Shipment during Season 1.Shoot House was released at the beginning of the season, which coincided with the launch of Warzone 2, while Shipment came out in the middle. Each map received its own exclusive playlist at launch, allowing players to play on only Shoot House or Shipment whenever they wanted. Now, Activision has added a new playlist to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that combines both fan-favorite maps.RELATED: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Players Discuss the Most Worthless PerkAs confirmed by Infinity Ward’s Twitter account, the Shoot the Ship playlist is now live in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, letting fans play matches only on either Shoot House or Shipment. Infinity Ward had earlier held a poll asking users to vote on the playlist they wanted, with Shoot the Ship narrowly winning. It received 45.7% of the votes, closely followed by a Shipment-only playlist with 42.9%. A playlist dedicated to Shoot House came last with 11.3%, confirming that the number of Call of Duty players who only want to play on Shipment is way higher when compared.

Cyber Attack and Bounty are two other playlists available to users in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, while the options for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 remain standard and mini versions of the battle royale game mode. Mini royale is a smaller-scale version of Warzone 2 that allows for fast-paced combat encounters, resulting in less downtime between fights.

Fans should note that Shoot the Ship picks one map at random, and it may not be the perfect solution for users who only want to play on just one of the two. Still, the playlist lets gamers play modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint on two of the most popular maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

While Shoot House and Shipment remain fan-favorites, Modern Warfare 2 also offers a decent selection of maps outside these two. Some users consider Farm 18, Crown Raceway, and Mercado Las Almas to be the best maps in Modern Warfare 2, with Taraq and Embassy also in the running. Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is said to add more maps to the game, and it’ll be interesting where they end up on these rankings.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
