Infinity Ward has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be rebalancing some overpowered weapons in the upcoming Season 2 Reloaded. The recent release of Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has brought a slate of new content to the game, but there are still some issues to iron out.The release of Season 2 has received a mostly lukewarm reception from fans, and there have been some decisions made by Infinity Ward that have confused fans. Just weeks after the mode was initially released, Infinity Ward removed Gun Game from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a choice that left many angry with the developer. Despite this, the release of the season has seen an injection of multiplayer content to the title, although the new maps haven't exactly become immediate fan favorites. Season 2 Reloaded provides a great opportunity for the developer to set things right.RELATED: Modern Warfare 2 Semtex Grenades Collide in Mid-AirThe rebalancing news was announced on Twitter, where it was confirmed that as well as various global weapon balances, there would be a notable damage reduction to the KV Broadside and Dragon's Breath rounds. The developer has had to do plenty of tinkering to the balance of Season 2 so far. At the beginning of the season, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 banned two new weapons from Ranked Play, however, it's taken a lot longer to make a change to the KV Broadside and Dragon's Breath.

At the moment, the KV Broadside combined with the Dragon's Breath rounds is part of the meta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with the two used in tandem utterly melting everything in its path. With the update due to arrive in just a few days, players don't have long until they find out the degree of the rebalancing. Weapon rebalances in multiplayer games can be a nervous time for hardcore players of the game, as it can completely change the way every game of matchmaking is played. It's assumed that players will be seeing much less of the KV Broadside once the change is actioned.

There's plenty for fans of the game to look forward to in the coming weeks. With the reveal that TMNT villain Shredder is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players will have brand-new ways to customize their Operators going forward. In addition, Infinity Ward is adding a brand new Himmelmatt Expo map for 6v6 play, and another new weapon, the Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle. Players will be hoping that this new weapon doesn't need drastic balance changes upon its release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
