Infinity Ward continues to make strives for their next iteration in the Call of Duty franchise. The developers have carefully crafted new game modes that hadn't been seen in Call of Duty before. There are many challenges and entertaining modes that await players in Modern Warfare 2 (2022), with perhaps more on the way.

One such game mode is Prisoner Rescue, which has players who are required to defend or extract prisoners. With no respawn, the clock is ticking to see which alternating team comes out on top. It's greatly engaging and intense and shows the potential for fun that can be had in Modern Warfare 2. However, which such a new game mode, it can be hard to learn the tips and tricks for Modern Warfare 2 that'll provide victory in every game.

5 Six Together Strong

Each team will consist of 6 players. There's a heavy importance on the numbers that each team has, as players may be revived, but if they are eliminated then that is it, no more fun for the player that was shot. To prevent total death, and to ensure the proper defense or extraction of prisoners, then players should note that teamwork is essential to survival. With 6 members in all groups, the other team will not be expecting such great teamwork, and will more than likely be in their spots and ideas, leaving them easy to pick off, one by one.

When it comes to Prisoner Rescue, there are no second chances, nor is this Team Deathmatch. Players can't just sprint around looking to get some kills, and they'll need to be sensible as they remain an intimidating and powerful unit. Teamwork is often essential in modern games, and when the objective requires such delicacy, it's best to find a friend, or five, to thrive with.

4 Defend With Traps

Defending is no easy task, and players will be required to think carefully about a multitude of things. Positioning is important, as players will not want to be standing in the open, susceptible to gunfire and whatever other horrors the enemy team has to wait for the player and their team. Not only is the positioning of a player important, but where they decide to place their traps is also a telltale way to ensure victory, as Modern Warfare 2 features plenty of exciting, hidden, and deadly traps that will stop the enemy from even approaching the prisoners they need to extract.

There is a ton of lethal and non-lethal equipment in Modern Warfare 2. These can range from decoy grenades to C4. For a game mode like Prisoner Rescue, the defending team should equip in their loadout some claymores and proximity mines. They won't have to worry about these lethal pieces of equipment going off, as they will only detonate if they have been shot, which gives away the enemy position, or if someone accidentally wanders into its radius unaware.

3 Extract With Allies

Multiplayer

When players reach their bounty of a prisoner, they will have to pick them up. In doing so, guns are useless, as both hands are needed to carry the prisoner and bring them to safety. This leaves the prisoner and the player utterly vulnerable, as players on the opposing team will do anything they can to get their prisoner back, and will happily kill the person extracting them to do so.

The other team, they'll have a much harder time killing the person extracting the prisoner if the attacking team has decided to stick as a unit. Through this method, players will have a safety shield of their allies, who will take point and watch for opponents that dare to contest the extraction. It's an essential Modern Warfare 2 tip for Prisoner Extraction, as gunfire is sure to rain.

2 Keep An Eye On Team Status

Considering there are no opportunities to respawn in Prisoner Extraction, death is the worst thing that can happen in the game mode for Modern Warfare 2. Not only is staying alive important for keeping in the fight but dwindling player numbers means that there's less chance of extracting or defending the prisoners considering everyone around said the objective is dead and out for the count. Luckily, players can check the top of the screen to see the status of their team.

By checking the team status, players will be aware of their squad, who has the most health, and who is alive. It's important to know what's going on in the game as if players start to get attacked, those that witness the team status fluctuate will know to be more cautious, and will be aware that trouble is building, and more care is essential to survival.

1 Two Primary Weapons

Each map in Prisoner Rescue can be different from the last. Just as much as each team is. This adds to a level of unpredictability that may cause issues for players that are only comfortable with one gun, and one tactic. However, there is a perk in Modern Warfare 2 that allows players to bring in two primary weapons into the fight that awaits them ahead. Perks have always been an important aspect of Call of Duty, but with so many new tactical game modes, the importance has never been higher.

With two primary weapons, players can be ready for anything that the game mode throws at them. They can use a sniper or a long-range rifle to watch for enemies at a distance. As the game continues, they can switch to their second shotgun or an SMG for those tight corners and close-quarters combat that will inevitably await them. These weapons are better than having just a pistol as a secondary.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
