After a week of fan outcry, a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 playlist update brings back the storied Shipment 24/7 mode. The popular Shipment map was brought back for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 during the 2022 holiday season, and players may enjoy the map once more leading into the game's second season. The Shipment map was updated for Modern Warfare 2, making it an even more chaotic map than ever before. Various cargo containers are scattered throughout the map, narrowing down sight lines and creating a zone of constant gunfights in the center. However, the revamped Shipment map was not free of bugs and issues in Modern Warfare 2. For some time, a bug caused teams to spawn inside a cargo container, allowing the enemy team to spawn trap players for the entire match duration. Players were angered even further when Infinity Ward removed Shipment 24/7 from the playlist.RELATED: Some Modern Warfare 2 Players Want Changes Made to Sniper Scope GlintInfinity Ward confirmed via its official Twitter account that the latest Modern Warfare 2 playlist update adds Shipment 24/7 into multiplayer once more. Additionally, Tier 1 Shipment is available in the playlist, allowing players to enjoy Shipment in Modern Warfare 2 with hardcore rules such as no HUD, less health, and no hit markers. Modern Warfare 2 players that enjoy frantic close-quarters combat may play Shipment 24/7 for the foreseeable future.

Previously, Infinity Ward replaced Modern Warfare 2's Shipment 24/7 mode in favor of Shoot House 24/7 on January 11. The community was outraged over the decision made by Infinity Ward since Shipment was becoming a fan-favorite map in the playlist again. Shoot House 24/7 would remain in the playlist for about a week's time before Shipment 24/7 returned. Fan outrage quickly gave way to excitement in the Modern Warfare 2 community, and some players have already expressed a desire for Shipment 24/7 to become a permanent mode in the playlist.

Despite player criticism of Modern Warfare 2's spawn mechanics and bugs, Shipment became one of the community's favorite maps to play on. The map encourages fun, fast-paced combat with less emphasis on tactics and map coordination. As a result, many Modern Warfare 2 players enjoy playing Shipment 24/7 while leveling up the game's vast amount of weapons.

It will be interesting to see if Infinity Ward continues to act in the best interests of its Modern Warfare 2 player base while promoting a diverse offering of modes in the multiplayer playlist. Positivity in the community may help the game thrive as Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 approaches.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
