Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans have taken to Reddit to call for a return of previous Operators featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2019. Although Modern Warfare 2 launched with an impressive roster of 25 operators, including Task Force 141's iconic combatants Ghost and Soap MacTavish, fans are hoping to get the opportunity to play as fan-favorite operators like Wyatt and Mara. While no official statement has been made by Activision or Infinity Ward, there may be some hope for fans hoping for their favorite operators to make a comeback.

Call of Duty fans regard Soap, Ghost, and Captain Price as the poster boys of the Modern Warfare series, but over the countless hours spent in multiplayer matches and in Call of Duty: Warzone, it's easy for players to get attached to specific operators. Players have enjoyed a vast variety of operators to play as, each boasting distinctive designs and characteristics, and some even come with their own backstory that is linked to the Modern Warfare storyline.

Modern Warfare 2 players on Reddit have expressed their desire to see the fan-favorite Australian Warcom operator Jackson Wyatt make a return in future updates. Wyatt is currently part of the Call of Duty Mobile roster of operators but players last week noticed Wyatt's portrait in Modern Warfare 2 operator Kleo's skin selection. It's possible that Wyatt's portrait is hinting at a return, but others on Reddit have pointed out that this could simply be a placeholder.

While players will have to wait and see if Wyatt will make his return in Modern Warfare 2, it's been all but confirmed that one popular operator will indeed be making a comeback. Mara first featured in Modern Warfare and became one of the game's most-played operators. The actress behind Mara, Alex Zedra let the cat out of the bag in a TikTok video where she said “I can officially say that yes Mara will be making a return for Modern Warfare 2." There's been no official word on when Mara will make her return.

The launch of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has been a massive success for Activision despite the many bugs that players have encountered in recent weeks. Warzone 2.0 racked up over 25 million players in only five days after it's launch and is currently enjoying a peak player count of 488,897 which was achieved last month. It's clear that Activision once again has a behemoth on its hands. Modern Warfare 2 has already seen the return of Farah as an operator, it's likely that the next logical step is to respond to fan demand and reintroduce old operators to build on Warzone 2.0's success.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
