A map present in the beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was removed from the final release, may be returning. Activision held a beta event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 before its release in October 2022, giving gamers a taste of the multiplayer gameplay and maps they can expect at launch. Players could try out popular game modes like Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Domination on some of the new maps coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in this beta. However, one map from Modern Warfare 2’s beta, called Valderas Museum, didn’t make it to the final release, as the game launched with 10 maps instead of 11. Fans were likely confused regarding its absence from the full version of Modern Warfare 2, as no official reason was given for its removal. Now, it looks like Activision is adding Valderas Museum back to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in a future update.RELATED: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is Making Changes to the Perks SystemCharlieIntel on Twitter has shared an image from the Valderas Museum map, hinting at it possibly coming back to Modern Warfare 2. As the map was playable in the beta, it may already be ready for a full release, but Activision could make changes to the level before adding it to Modern Warfare 2. Some players believed that Valderas Museum was too large for 6v6 gameplay, so Infinity Ward could make it smaller before releasing it.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are currently in Season 1 Reloaded, with Season 2 launching on February 15. Season 2 was originally supposed to come out at the beginning of February, but Activision delayed it by a couple of weeks. Since then, the publisher has been revealing some new features and the biggest changes coming to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, such as the Gulag going back to 1v1 encounters.

Details about the new content to be added in Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are scarce, but the developer has confirmed that more maps will be coming to the game in this update. The timing of this tweet possibly hints at the Valderas Museum map coming back in Season 2, but some users are worried that Activision will consider it to be a new map for Modern Warfare 2. A recent leak suggested that Modern Warfare 2 will add a variant of the Castle map from Call of Duty: World at War, so it’s possible that Season 2 will also feature two previously known maps instead of brand-new levels.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
