A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 player somehow ends up dying twice before the match even starts. Modern Warfare 2 came out in October 2022 with a middling to positive critical reception, but the game was not without its fair share of problems.

Since its release, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players have reported various issues and bugs present in the games. Even though Activision has released several updates for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 that add new content, fix bugs, and implement balance changes, it looks like some glitches are still ruining the flow of matches. One clip serves as an example of the problems players can encounter in Modern Warfare 2, as it seems like gamers can die before the match even begins.

A Reddit user has shared a clip of them loading into a match of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the Santa Sena Border Crossing map. Everything seems to be running smoothly, as the video shows them selecting a loadout, but they somehow end up dying before the countdown ends. The same incident occurs a moment later, as the player dies for a second time seconds before the beginning of the match. Fans can see a confirmation of the deaths on the left side of the screen as further proof of this bizarre event, but it looks like they were able to play properly after the match had started.

Gamers in the comments section jokingly state that these two deaths are due to a skill issue, with one mentioning that this method is a good way to balance out the kill-to-death ratio in Modern Warfare 2. One fan claims that this is a common occurrence whenever users play a 10v10 game on Santa Sena Border Crossing, before wondering if these deaths count toward the total on the scoreboard.

While there isn’t a clear reason for this bug to happen in Modern Warfare 2, it looks like the user glitched out and spawned inside a vehicle. So, the game may have killed them to reset their position, allowing them to spawn correctly before the Modern Warfare 2 match starts.

Season 2 Reloaded for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 began on March 15, making a whole number of changes to the games. However, as seen in the video, it looks like some issues still remain, and it’s possible that new ones get introduced whenever Activision adds more content to these Call of Duty titles.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
