These two videos from different people show how closely the area designed in the game resembles Amsterdam in the real world. Both videos start at the same spot and showcase the stunning level of detail that went into bringing this location to life in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty games are perhaps known for their incredible amount of detail, and the level based on Amsterdam is no exception. This is not the first time Infinity Ward has attempted to make accurate recreations of known locations, either, as it recreated Piccadilly Circus in a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare map called Piccadilly. Fans interested in checking out the highly-detailed Amsterdam level can play MW2’s campaign today if they purchase the game.

It looks like Activision’s decision to offer early access to the campaign was a big success. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 appears to be a hit on Steam, as it boasted an impressive 90,000 concurrent peak player count, the third highest in the series. The top spot in terms of peak simultaneous players belongs to Black Ops, although open betas, such as the one for Modern Warfare 2, are not included in this list.

Despite the success stories, some players have reported facing problems with the early access launch. Technical issues prevented some Call of Duty players from playing the campaign, and a few of them even report getting permanently banned from the game’s servers.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
