Call of Duty Mobile is a fun addition to the growing roster of mobile first-person-shooters available to those who want some fast-paced action on the go. COD Mobile’s battle royale mode is competitive with Fortnite, and its wide variety of other game modes makes it a versatile title to pick up and play anywhere.

However, in any online competitive game there will always be those who make it their mission to worsen the experiences of others, either through cheating or just bad sportsmanship. The makers of Call of Duty Mobile were prepared for this inevitability, and wisely provided players with a method for reporting cheating and other toxic behavior.

It has been known for some time that COD Mobile has some issues with online foul-play. Spotting a cheater can sometimes be difficult because there are a lot of skilled players out there, but if someone is teleporting or getting headshots like they play with mouse and keyboard, they may be using some unfair advantage.

Cheating in single-player games can be fun and harmless, but in a competitive game where other people are trying their honest best, unfair advantages are a huge problem. As of now, players can only report other users for cheating after a match has ended. Activision has also stated that it will be adding more options for reporting in the future.

At the end of a match, when the scoreboard appears that shows the kills for each player, there is an exclamation-mark icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Tapping this icon will open the report window. In this window, all the players on both teams are listed. Tapping a player’s username will bring up a menu with the following options to select: Verbal Abuse, Inactivity, Cheating/Trainers, AFK, and Attacked Teammates. There is also a box in which a more detailed description of what happened can be written. Pressing the big “Report” button will send a report to be reviewed.

By reporting cheaters, anyone can help make the game a more fair and fun place to be. Only a few good tips for winning in COD Mobile are needed to start doing better, so no one should have to resort to cheating to have a good time.

Call of Duty Mobile is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
