With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone both celebrating Halloween, it makes sense for Call of Duty Mobile to join in on the fun. This year, Call of Duty Mobile fans can expect some fresh cosmetics and maps themed around the scare-focused holiday.

While players will be experiencing another round of The Haunting in other CoD games, Call of Duty Mobile Season 9 is dubbed “Nightmare.” Players get to see several neat cosmetics in a new trailer for it, all of which will be available over the next few weeks. The items in question will be part of the Season 9 battle pass, which will include a new Operator skill and weapon in the free tiers. While self-healing and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Swordfish should prove fun to use, it is the other content that truly embraces the Halloween spirit.

As shown in the trailer, one of the looks Call of Duty Mobile players can obtain is a special Scarecrow skin for the Operator Nikto. Other outfits are visible, such as a Nosferatu skin for Artery and a new look for Gunzo, with the Joker-like clown set to get some metal spikes on his head. The trailer sees players fighting through halls of mirrors and perching on buildings, showing off some of the new weapons that will be unlocked through the Pass.

There will be two spooky maps coming this Season, with the classic Call of Duty map Standoff getting a Halloween makeover. The Chinese border town will be given a nighttime setting, and the map will be packed with the Halloween decorations one would expect to see, though it is not the only special play space gamers will have access to. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare map Hovec Sawmill is coming to Call of Duty Mobile, and while it is set at night to better suit the spooky season, it should play just as well as it did in the 2019 game.

While not shown in the Nightmare trailer, fresh modes will be coming to Call of Duty Mobile during Season 9, too. Drop Zone from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is featured, and while it is similar to Hardpoint, players only get streaks from holding the Zone - forcing objective play. 10v10 Pumpkin Confirmed is also set to feature, and despite the name change, players can expect it to play a lot like Kill Confirmed. The main difference will likely be that players pick up jack-o-lanterns instead of dog tags.

With Call of Duty Mobile’s Undead Siege Zombies mode also returning for Halloween, there is clearly a lot for fans to be excited about. Fortunately, players will not have to wait long to experience the event, as it kicks off tonight at 8PM EST.

Call of Duty Mobile is available now on Android and iOS.
