One of the most appealing features about battle royale games is the fact that there are constant changes in order to the game fresh for months and months. One of the games that has gotten very few updates, however, is Call of Duty Mobile. Ever since the mobile first-person shooter was released, the battle royale section of the game has been a bit neglected. That's all about to change, as developer TiMi Studios has revealed the map will be getting a major overhaul, with a whole new section being added to the top of the map.
The news was officially announced via a video released on Call of Duty Mobile's official Twitter account just a few hours ago. The video itself goes into detail about the update, comparing the old map to the new, significantly bigger map.
In layman's terms, the new map includes everything the old Call of Duty Mobile map did and the addition of the entire top section of the old map, which was previously blocked off. According to the developer, there are now seven new sections of the map: Downtown, Black Market, Sanitarium, Frigid Wetland, Ski Town, and Heat. The video itself goes into detail about the new sections, showing off the different sections that will be added with the new update.
According to the developer, the new Season 7 update for Call of Duty Mobile, which adds all seven of the new locations to the battle royale map, is set to go live next week, although an exact date was not given. There's been some speculation that the update might be released on June 4, 2020, however, it might be a bit later that, especially with everything going on in the world.
This update is certainly going to help revitalize the game's battle royale mode. As previously mentioned, while the multiplayer has received a slew of new content over the past few months, there's been little to no content released for the battle royale mode. Giving players such a huge content drop should be celebrated. When Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout was getting constant updates, there were only one or two new sections added at a time. Call of Duty: Warzone hasn't even gotten a map update yet and that's one of the most popular battle royale games in the world right now, so the fact that these developers added new content should certainly be praised.
Hopefully, players will learn more about the exact release date of the Season 7 update as the days go by.
