Now, Activision has released more specific metrics of Call of Duty Mobile's success. It says that the mobile title has garnered a whopping 500 million downloads across Android and iOS devices. This is pretty impressive as most main Call of Duty releases on PC and console get up to around 30 million in sales, which is also nothing to scoff at. While the game is free-to-play, there are in-app purchases available to players interested in purchasing different cosmetics or seasonal battle passes. Players are obviously buying them quite frequently, as Activision also announced that the app has brought in over $1 billion in revenue.

Most impressively, the statistics indicate that Call of Duty Mobile is growing quite healthily too. Call of Duty Mobile took an entire year to cross the 250 million download and $500 million revenue milestone, but doubling them to the current numbers only took the title six months. It is easy to see why, as well, as the app already boasts nearly all of the series' trademark modes including multiplayer and its very own battle royale. As Call of Duty Mobile continues to update and grow, it will undoubtedly continue to attract new players and pass further impressive metrics.

With Activision recently stating that it wants all of its series to be more like Call of Duty, gamers will undoubtedly see more mobile adaptations of some of Activision's biggest games. The incredible success of Call of Duty Mobile indicates that the mobile title exposed the series to a whole new group of players, and it would be logical for Activision to want that for all of their franchises. Thankfully, the success also means that Call of Duty Mobile will undoubtedly be supported for a long time to come, so fans should have plenty of new content to look forward to.
