Call of Duty: Mobile players may have had their eyes on the upcoming Season 9, with it being teased that it will include the Gunsmith feature from Modern Warfare, but Activision has given them a reason to bring the focus back to the current season.

As part of yesterday's update, a Days of Summer event was added to Call of Duty: Mobile, which will be running for a limited time and give players the chance to earn new rewards, such as soldier and weapon skins.

The main prize of this event is a water-based skin for the Purifier called the H20 skin. This skin effectively turns the weapon into a giant spray gun, allowing players to douse their enemies with water rather than flames.

Players will have to jump through some hoops in order to unlock it, though - twelve of them to be precise. Activision has helpfully shared a list of what challenges must be completed in order to acquire the skin.

  • Play 3 Juggernaut Matches
  • Play 10 Juggernaut Matches
  • Select the Highrise map in MP-Featured and Kill 15 Enemies on it
  • Select the Highrise map in MP-Featured and Play 5 MP Matches with Friends on it
  • Kill 30 Enemies in Juggernaut Matches
  • Stay Online for 15 min in total
  • Stay Online for 30 min in total
  • Stay Online for 45 min in total
  • Stay Online for 60 min in total
  • Play 3 Gunfight Matches
  • Send 5 XP cards to Friends
  • Play 5 Kill Confirmed Matches

None of these challenges are particularly tricky, fortunately, though Activision has provided some helpful hints on its website for how to clear some of them.

Activision hasn't stated how long the event will last or when it will end, but we can probably guess it will finish by the end of August at the earliest.

Mobile players still have plenty to look forward to afterwards as the aforementioned Season 9 could very well come with two maps from Modern Warfare.

As for Modern Warfare and Warzone, Season 5 is set to begin in a couple of weeks and aside from the usual new content like operators and weapons, big changes are expected to come to Warzone, specifically regarding its map, which could undergo a change of some kind.

Meanwhile, more leaks regarding this year's new Call of Duty game have sprung up. This time, a Doritos promotion looks to have accidentally revealed the game's title, confirming everyone's suspicion that it will be a Black Ops game set during the Cold War.
