Call of Duty Mobile is packed with content, consistently introducing limited time modes and special content. It seems like one of the most popular limited time modes will be returning to Call of Duty Mobile, however, as Attack of the Undead seems poised to make a comeback.

Before there was Call of Duty: Warzone’s Zombie Royale, there was Attack of the Undead in Call of Duty Mobile. Placing 20 players on a sizable map, teams are split into Survivors and the Undead. Working like a deeper version of the popular party game Infected, Attack of the Undead sees Survivors trying to reach the end of the match’s time limit, while the Undead team is tasked with the goal of infecting every living player.

Attack of the Undead also allows players to earn perks from racking up Zombie kills. Players can obtain the Scavenger perk to restore ammo, Restock for faster operator skill regeneration, and Amped which gives a boost to weapon swap and reload speed. One final, interesting twist happens upon the Survivors’ numbers being narrowed down to one player, as the last survivor is given a Death Machine to fight off the many zombies. With the mode proving popular among Call of Duty Mobile’s many players, its possible return should be welcomed with open arms.

While Call of Duty Mobile developer TiMi Studios has yet to confirm a return of the fun battle royale variant, its appearance in the game’s January test build is hard to argue against. As such, a potential release of the returning mode could be coming with the game’s next season. With the Call of Duty Mobile season count being reset when the next major content drop arrives, players can expect Attack of the Undead to appear in the refreshed Season 1, which many players theorize will be launching on January 25.

While Attack of the Undead’s return is exciting, some fans likely would have preferred a bit of news on the return of Call of Duty Mobile’s Zombies offering. Removed from the game in May of last year, TiMi Studios told fans that the mode may return when it is up to the quality standards of the rest of the game. While Call of Duty Mobile’s Zombies offering was not quite on the level of Treyarch’s classic iterations, there was plenty of potential, and it was certainly a bit of a shame to see an entire mode dropped.

Hopefully, Call of Duty Mobile’s Zombies fans get news on a potential return of the game mode sometime soon. Even if an update does not come, though, Attack of the Undead’s return is still a great reason to dust off some special cosmetics like the Richtofen skin.

Call of Duty Mobile is available now on Android and iOS devices.
