Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered has been heavily rumored over the past few months, and now another leaker has claimed that it is on the way. In fact, gamers should prepare to relive the game’s version of World War 3 later this year, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered is reportedly eyeing up a 2021 release.

Previously leaks have come from @ModernWarzone, with the insider confirming that the project is in the works back in November of last year. @ModernWarzone doubled down on these leaks, too, stating that Call of Duty: Warzone’s Soap skin would be added via a bundle attached to every purchase of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This detail was revealed back in March, and while there has been silence in the weeks since, a new leak has come about that confirms a few more details about the remaster.

The latest leak comes from @TheMW2Ghost, another well-known source when it comes to Call of Duty insiders. According to @TheMW2Ghost, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered is “definitely” coming in 2021. With players’ hopes for a 2021 release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Remastered crushed, this updated version of the third game’s campaign could help soften the blow. As for a specific window for its release, @TheMW2Ghost highlights that the original plan was for Q2 — which covers the months of March, April, and May.

The leaker clarifies that they are unsure if this is still the plan, as the game would need to be revealed and released before the start of June. While this is certainly possible, as the remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign received a trailer on the day of its release, the leaker does seem to warn fans that the game could have been pushed back. The leaker is certain that the game will come this year, at least, giving fans that enjoyed the trilogy’s finale a reason to be excited.

The final point worth noting from @TheMW2Ghost’s post is that the game will feature a full month of PlayStation exclusivity. Once again, this follows the exact same setup as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, with that game also being exclusive to the PlayStation platform for an entire month. Unlike the second Modern Warfare’s campaign, though, it is unclear if a PlayStation Plus release is in the cards for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered.

While fans should take these leaks with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made, they do seem believable given how much they mirror the release of the previous campaign remaster. Further, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered proving successful financially, Activision wanting to keep this trend alive makes sense.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
