As gamers prepare for the 2022 Call of Duty League Vanguard season, league teams express major concerns over Call of Duty: Vanguard's broken Control mode being included in the upcoming Kickoff Classic.Call of Duty League participants return from the off-season ready to reveal their team rosters to fans of the popular esport. However, both competitive players and fans of the franchise are worried about Call of Duty: Vanguard's Control mode being featured in an official event with its current bugs.RELATED: Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies Players Discover Unlimited Ammo ExploitThese concerns from players arise just as the Call of Duty League Vanguard preseason begins with the Kickoff Classic event on January 21st. Call of Duty League commentator Landon 'LandO' Sanders stated on Twitter, "FYI: Seeing a glitch on Tuscan Control when someone's in CoDCaster. If the game goes past a few rounds the spectator gets disconnected & the game automatically ends. Happened twice now." In other words, even though a team hasn't achieved the required three rounds for victory, the game is still giving them the win. Fans showed distaste to this situation, roughly stating that whoever decided that the broken Control mode should be considered for the third game mode needs to be "fired."

Competitive player James 'Clayster' Eubanks tweeted a video of a Control match on the map Gavutu, and showed a perfect example of what Landon was referring to in his tweet. James commented in his tweet that the team was, "Up 2-1 in Control, we got a defense, they're just built diffy. Gotta be the fastest control round in history." In the video, the game is in spectator mode when the glitch causes the player to disconnect, which ends the round and gives the win in seemingly the fastest match ever. The glitch is a significant problem for an official competition, and concerned fans are expecting a comedy show rather than a serious game, marking this year's competition as "one for the history books."

Unfortunately, Call of Duty: Vanguard takes the crown as the lowest selling title in the FPS series, and with this fact comes uncertainty. Agreeing that no game is perfect and bugs are common in shooters, Call of Duty: Vanguard has experienced more issues than fans can handle since launch. This includes the game's Twitch viewership dropping dramatically and possibly why developer Activision is pushing the franchise's next title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, to increase the severe lack in title sales.

With Activision receiving a ton of flack from players and its employees as of late, it's not good that Call of Duty league fans and pros are reserved about the upcoming preseason. So far, the Call of Duty League has not responded to any concerns or announced a plan to use a different game mode for the tournament.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
