Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Trailer Reveals Zombies in Spaceland

Activision releases a new trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, revealing the game’s quirky Zombies mode Zombies in Spaceland, which is set in the 1980’s.

When Activision first unveiled Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the game received a massive amount of hate from disgruntled fans angry about its futuristic, science-fiction setting. Well, as it turns out, some aspects of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare package will not be set in the future; in fact, the game’s Zombies mode will be set in the 1980’s, and is called Zombies in Spaceland.

Zombies in Spaceland takes place in an amusement park with a sci-fi theme. Instead of the original Zombies cast or celebrity cameos, it features four brand new playable characters, all based on 1980’s archetypes:  Andre, the hip-hop guru; Poindexter, the nerd; Sally, the valley girl; and AJ, the jock. These new characters will have new threats to face, including zombie clowns, zombies dressed like Michael Jackson, breakdancing zombies, and a large, tank-like zombie that appears to be partially armored.

Luckily, players will have new tools at their disposal to help take out these threats. The trailer offers a glimpse of a number of weapons players can use, including a gun that freezes enemies, a bomb attached to a boombox, and more. Beyond firearms and explosives, players will also be able to utilize the park’s rides to their advantage, which should operate similarly to how traps have worked in previous Zombies maps.

Unlike the Call of Duty 4 remaster, Zombies in Spaceland will be available in every version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. However, those that decide to pre-order the game will receive some bonuses for the new Zombies mode. Called the Zombies in Spaceland Pack, this pre-order bonus DLC will net players a unique weapon camo, a calling card, a custom reticle, and a Fate & Fortune card pack.

So, those that are intrigued by the trailer and want to play Zombies in Spaceland may want to consider pre-ordering the game. If the bonus DLC isn’t enough to convince them to do so, however, Activision is sweetening the pot. Anyone that pre-orders Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will also receive the Terminal remake map along with the DLC for Zombies in Spaceland.

While the initial reaction to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was overwhelmingly negative, it appears as though Activision and Infinity Ward are going all out to make things right with franchise fans. This quirky Zombies mode is probably a step in the right direction, and between it, the exciting pre-order bonuses, and the Call of Duty 4 remaster, series fans may find it difficult to skip Infinite Warfare.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be available on November 4th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
