A pre-order card from Target appears to have confirmed that the newly announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will indeed have a beta at some point before release.
Gamers have been talking about a Call of Duty in space for years nows. While it started off as just a pipe dream for those hoping for significant formulaic and setting changes, the premise of just such a take on the series has now been realized in the form of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The new title is set to arrive this November alongside a high-def remaster of Modern Warfare, and it should have a rather unique campaign – although the multiplayer has always been where the main appeal of the franchise stems from.
Because of this reality, Activision is keen on making sure that all of its ducks are in a row on launch day, and it appears that it’ll be doing some fine-tuning prior to the game’s arrival in order to ensure that the multiplayer component that CoD is infamous for is in top shape. According to a recent pre-order card from Target, as spotted by CharlieINTEL, it will go about doing so by having a beta for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
The card itself doesn’t elaborate on when the beta will kick off, or even whether or not PlayStation 4 users will gain access to it first a la Call of Duty: Black Ops 3‘s beta, but it does indeed appear to confirm the imminent arrival of the pre-release multiplayer trial.
Not much is known about the multiplayer component of Infinite Warfare outside of the fact that it will feature maps that take place on other planets. With that in mind, it’s very possible that a beta would feature one or two of those off-Earth battlegrounds, although the game’s developer, Infinity Ward, may want to hold off on those until the full release. Of course, some other multiplayer arenas may very well change up the gameplay significantly (thanks to a large number of variables that accompany space-based warfare), but only time will tell just what’s planned for the title.
Activision has yet to official confirm a beta for its newly announced Infinite Warfare, but the publisher will likely speak up in the short term in order to clarify its plans pre-release. With that said, stay tuned to Game Rant for more details on everything Call of Duty.
