Activision and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered will be compatible with Sony's forthcoming console, PS4 Pro.

During Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation Meeting 2016, executives and representatives for the Japanese multinational conglomerate officially announced the release date and price of its forthcoming 4K-enabled console known as the PS4 Pro. Interestingly enough, during the event, Activision's Andy Hendrickson also took to the stage to discuss what the publisher's plans are when it comes to the impending releases of the two highly anticipated first-person shooters Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered, and how the games will operate on the PS4 Pro.

According to Hendrickson, both of the aforementioned titles from Activision are going to be compatible with the PS4 Pro straight out of the box when Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered launch at the end of November. While this is definitely good news for fans of the long-running franchise and for those looking forward to Sony's PS4 Pro, the complete details to the advantage of playing these games on the new console is not totally clear yet, but it has been confirmed that 4K and HDR colors will be a part of the experience.

Apparently, both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered were developed with the PS4 Pro in mind so as to project the power of the PS4 Pro's graphics. In order to display such visual might, Activision even unveiled brand new gameplay from the single-player campaign of Infinite Warfare from a mission called Operation: Dark Quarry. As seen in the video below beginning at 39:12, the action features the heroes at a mining facility set on an asteroid base that's hovering close to the sun, with the game's characters on a search-and-rescue operation that quickly goes awry.

Furthermore, not only will Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered support the PS4 Pro, but Activision and Sony have worked together in order to ensure that the top selling game of 2015 is able to be played on the upgraded hardware as well. This is, of course, in reference to the Treyarch-developed shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, as it is set to receive a downloadable patch to add compatibility on the new console's release date.

Taking all of this into account, it seems as if Sony has utilized a considerable amount of its resources in order to ensure the PS4 Pro's success by not only making it two times as powerful than the original PlayStation 4, but also enlisting Activision's assistance in promoting the console with Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. Of course, with the upgraded Xbox dubbed Project Scorpio still in development, it will be interesting to see how the PS4 Pro's graphics look next to the forthcoming Microsoft system's upon both of their releases.
