Without a doubt, Call of Duty fans are eagerly anticipating next month's launch of the World War II-inspired Call of Duty: WW2, but while they wait, fans of the first-person shooter franchise now have a bevy of content to experience in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. As it so happens, not only will the materials make the wait for the next sequel that much bearable, but also they celebrate Halloween, with Activision and Infinity Ward launching exclusive loot for the holiday season.

As seen in the trailer below for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, players of the game will be able to experience a community celebration dubbed “Willard Wyler’s Halloween Scream,” which allows fans to acquire all-new Halloween-themed loot, participate in XP-boosting events, play through a new Zombies mode, and even receive exclusive free items only available during the event. Activision and Infinity Ward will be keeping the event open throughout the rest of this month, as the content went live today and runs through November 1, 2017.

As far as the actual content in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's "Willard Wyler's Halloween Scream" event is concerned, fans should expect to receive a free Halloween-themed Supply Drop at the beginning of each week, a free cosmetic item inspired by the holiday every Friday, and even some fresh zombie-themed Rig skins that can be earned. Not to mention, it will also introduce a "Boss Battle" mode on October 13 that allows players to fight the final bosses from each of the game's Zombies modes, while Gesture Warfare in multiplayer returns through October 12, and the Retribution DLC Pack's Carnage map will be free-to-play from October 12 to November 1.

In order for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare fans to receive the free items during Halloween Scream, they will need to log into multiplayer between Monday and Friday morning while online and visit the Quartermaster. To be specific, the Supply Drop will be available each between Monday morning and Friday morning, Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), and the cosmetic items will be available between Friday morning and Monday morning, but of course, exact times are subject to vary.

Taking all of this into consideration, although Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare sales were down by 50% when compared to its predecessor, there are surely still plenty of fans who will welcome the game's "Willard Wyler's Halloween Scream" event with open arms. After all, it's hard to deny the fun that can be had with a Halloween bash.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
