Here's how players can unlock 1980s TV and movie star David Hasselhoff as a companion in the Zombies in Spaceland map for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Similar to past Zombies maps, Zombies in Spaceland in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is filled with neat secrets that, if discovered, can help players be much more successful at the game. One of the most amusing secrets in Zombies in Spaceland involves Baywatch and Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff, who can join players in their zombie-slaying adventures.

Here is how to unlock David Hasselhoff for the Zombies in Spaceland mode in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare:

1. How to Rebuild N3IL

In order to summon David Hasselhoff from the heavens, players must rebuild N3IL the robot and complete his challenges. N3IL's body can be found in Cosmic Way, which serves as the main hub area and the first place players can go after spawning. To reach Cosmic Way, switch on the power (located in the building to the right of the Lost and Found), then kill enough zombies to have the 750 points necessary to unlock the area.

Straight ahead from the entrance is N3IL's headless robot body. Luckily, N3IL's head isn't too far away. Just keep moving forward to the entrance of the Polar Peak area, and N3IL's head can be found on a cart, with an angry expression on his face. Pick up N3IL's head and deliver it to his body to bring the robot back to life.

N3IL will then start roaming around the map, primarily in Cosmic Way, while dishing out challenges for players to complete solo or with friends. These challenges are all relatively simple, asking players to kill a certain number of zombies with melee kills, multi-kills, from a distance, or while in the air. Later challenges ramp up the difficulty a bit, but all of the challenges are self-explanatory. Please note that the more players on a team, the more demanding the challenges will be.

N3IL's challenges are timed, and if the timer runs out, players will have to redo that challenge. To pause a challenge, simply approach N3IL and interact with his body. This can be helpful when nearing the end of a round when there simply aren't enough of the living dead to complete the challenges.

Once enough challenges have been completed to fill N3IL's meter, he will shoot into the sky, bringing back David Hasselhoff. David Hasselhoff will then hang around for a bit, shooting zombies and reviving players as needed. Unfortunately, he is pretty useless in the grand scheme of things, but completing N3IL's challenges is a great way to earn a lot of tickets fast.

2. Where to Find N3IL's Battery

David Hasselhoff will eventually depart, and N3IL's auxiliary battery will die. The next step is to find his battery, bring it to him, and complete slightly more difficult challenges to bring The Hoff back into the fray. It seems as though the battery spawns in the following four locations most of the time, but it is possible that it spawns in areas that haven't been discovered yet:

  • Cubbyhole by the Polar Peak Rollercoaster
  • By the laser trap in Polar Peak
  • On the ice cream cart opposite of the Chromosphere trap in the Kepler System
  • On a bench next to the DJ booth in the Kepler System

It appears as though the battery will spawn in either Polar Peak or the Kepler System, but as previously stated, it's possible it spawns elsewhere as well, and where it spawns could be random. Players should make a crawler if they are having difficulty finding the battery to give themselves more time to locate it.

Deliver the battery to N3IL to trigger yet another series of challenges. Complete these challenges and Hasselhoff will return. Once Hasselhoff departs again, players will have to find yet another part for N3IL.

3. Where to Find Floppy Disk

The final part N3IL needs is a floppy disk to reboot his operating system. Out of all the parts, the floppy disk should be the easiest to locate. It seems as though it only spawns in the basement portion of the map, and is always located on the edge of objects like tables. The floppy disk does seem to spawn randomly, though, so while it's difficult to direct players to its exact location, simply walking around the basement and checking surfaces should help them find it before too long. And again, as is the case with past Zombies maps, players can make a crawler if they need more time to find it.

With the floppy disk in tow, return to N3IL and install his new operating system. This will trigger yet another set of challenges, but once these are completed and Hasselhoff makes his appearance, there are no more parts to find for N3IL. Anyone that wants David Hasselhoff to return can visit N3IL again and spend $5,000 of their hard-earned cash, though it's hard to say if he's really worth the investment or not.

Unlocking David Hasselhoff is just one of many secrets found in the Zombies in Spaceland mode for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. While Hasselhoff himself may not be the most useful companion, completing the challenges to unlock him is worth it for the bonus tickets. And for fans of Baywatch and Knight Rider, it's cool for Hasselhoff to join the ranks of other celebrities that have appeared in Zombies.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
