Just when Call of Duty: Black Ops II fans thought they couldn’t possibly stand to digitally dispatch their friends on the same maps one more time, the folks at Activision and Treyarch have sallied forth with a DLC release that should liven things up a bit. This bit of fresh fragging comes in the form of the Call of Duty: Black Ops II Vengeance pack. They’ve even put together this fancy new trailer to spread the buying spirit to those who haven’t yet emptied their socks full of nickels for the season pass.

Entitled Always Running, this new trailer focuses on the new zombies map called 'Buried'. Buried brings of Black Ops 2 zombie-killing fab-four front and center again, this time as they try to blast their way out of an underground Old West mining town.

With depressing music so perfectly juxtaposed to the blood-splashed carnage it may as well be a Gears of War trailer, the video certainly tries to play up the emotional, character-driven side of the Zombies arc…as emotional as a trailer featuring zombie headshot explosions can be anyway.

Speaking of headshots, players will be able to rack up a couple of them per shot thanks to the inclusion of the Ray Gun Mark II. This laser throwing boom stick is a favorite weapon amongst Zombies players, and it will be available in all of the Zombie maps.

Of course, Vengeance also comes with the four new multiplayer maps that were detailed a few weeks back. Players will be treated to an island getaway of death on Cove, the world’s most serious round of paintball in Rush, multi-level gridlock like they’ve never seen in Detour, and a slight twist on an oldie-but-a-goodie with Uplink.

Each new map is meant to add a bit more variety to the overall multiplayer experience since each has a different flow and set of tactics for success. Obviously a couple are meant to retain the fast-paced, head-on style that Call of Duty fans have come to expect, while the others will presumably add a bit more depth and strategy to the play, which will hopefully appeal to some of the series’ detractors…ahem…Battlefield fans.

Will Buried’s zombie-infestation have you shelling out the digital cash? Or are you waiting and saving up for Call of Duty: Ghosts on the new game box of your choosing?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Vengeance is available right now as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. PC and PS3 players will have to wait until they get their hands on this one.
