Sneak Peek of the 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' Trailer Debuting On Monday Night Football

Black Ops Premiere Single Player Trailer Monday Night Football

Alright Call of Duty: Black Ops marketing blitz, North America is ready and waiting. With only a month remaining between now and the release of the game, it seems only appropriate that the television invasion begin, starting with a single player trailer premiering during the Minnesota Vikings vs. the New York Jets game on Monday Night Football. Though it's just a short glimpse, we have a sneak peek at the trailer that will be premiering. Prepare for slow-mo, explosions, and more slow-mo.

While the bulk of the trailer’s 16 second run time is filled by the Microsoft logo and a voice over telling us of the trailer’s release, what you can see looks pretty enticing. We see one of our protagonists (the bearded one) looking somber and even letting out a painful outburst, hinting at perhaps a mission that doesn’t go according to plan?

What we know about the plot of Black Ops is that it revolves around two special operatives who have gone behind enemy lines during the Cold War. Not only will the traditional First Person Shooter elements return, but fresh twists will come in many forms including the ability to pilot a Hind helicopter. As long as developer Treyarch can recreate the tense shootouts they gave us in World at War and hey, why not some Zombies, then I expect an engaging story.

What can be said about Call of Duty: Black Ops that hasn’t been said about a pool full of jello? We want it terribly bad. Not only does the multiplayer component add new layers of customization to the game, but includes one of the most enticing modes I have seen in an online shooter yet. If the game’s single player delivers as satisfying of an experience as we have come to expect from a Call of Duty game, yet is also substantially longer than Modern Warfare 2, I’m ready to stamp it as my game of the year.

Whose gearing up for some Monday Night Football to check out this trailer? And who was going to watch the game anyways but will now pay more attention during the commercials.

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be available November 9th for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, and DS. Stick tuned to Game Rant for the full trailer when it becomes available.
