Are you a gamer? Are you in the new car market? Do you have an extra $30-35 grand to spend? Well, I have some pretty awesome news for you, because next month Chrysler will be releasing a Call of Duty: Black Ops edition of the Jeep Wrangler. The retail price for the vehicle will be $30,625 and $33,500. Judging by the two price points, one price will most likely be for the basic and the other for the premium model.

Mike Manley, President and CEO of Jeep Brand Chrysler Group LLC, had this to say about catering to the world of gamers with the new Black Ops inspired Jeep:

" The Jeep brand's partnership with Activision marries the world's most capable and iconic vehicle — the Jeep Wrangler — with one of the world's most popular entertainment experiences, As a result, we are able to expose the Jeep brand and its legendary capability to an entirely new group of consumers."

On the Activision side of this awesome coin, Chief Marketing Officer Brad Jakeman is also pleased with the outcome with the merging of these two worlds:

"This is a dynamic and fully integrated partnership that brings together two iconic brands across a full array of consumer touch-points," Jakeman said. "From the beginning our teams worked together to make this a truly creative partnership that added to the consumer experience of both the Jeep and Call of Duty: Black Ops brands."

As you would guess the special Jeep will make an appearance in the game. Studio head of Treyarch, Mark Lamia is assuring gamers and potential new car buyers that the Jeep will play an integral part in the game:

"It was important for us to make sure that the Jeep partnership would be authentic and enhance the setting we immerse our fans in with Black Ops. Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own."

The main question now is what's different from this Black Ops Edition Jeep Wrangler and the regular Jeep Rubicon models that it's based off of? The answer is... not much, really. The Call of Duty: Black Ops edition includes tail-lamp guards and a fuel-filler door from Mopar, and then the Black Ops logo on the roof and the front quarter panels as well. Also, the vehicle is only available in black.

This is an excellent marketing strategy for both the people at Chrysler and Activision, but that is where I feel it ends. Seeing as the CoD: Black Ops pre-orders have already surpassed Modern Warfare 2's, I'm sure that there will be hardcore gaming fans that will love to show their pride in this new special edition Jeep. The only major drawback of this awesome machine is that it doesn't seem to be too different from  the other Jeep Wrangler models out there and it only comes in black; I'm more of a silver person myself. Just in case playing Black Ops in 3D doesn't satisfy your taste for realism, maybe driving the official car will.

Would you guys with an extra $30 grand to spend purchase the Black-Ops styled Jeep?

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set for release on November 9th for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PC.
