Activision is seemingly to set to finally reveal their next Call of Duty game later this month. We all expect it to be Modern Warfare 3 and we know whatever it is, it will generate plenty of excitement and eventually, sales dollars.

In an attempt to ride that buzz, Activision and Treyarch will capitalize on that timing by releasing the next set of DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Leaked by a retailer, the ‘Escalation’ DLC is another map pack planned for release on May 2nd.

The information comes from a flyer that GAME Australia put up on their website before quickly taking it down, GameStop style, in what may just be an attempt to seek some publicity.

The Black Ops DLC, as outlined below, includes what looks to be 4 regular multiplayer maps and another Zombies level, the same format as the ‘First Strike’ DLC which released on Xbox 360 on Feb 1st. As part of Activision’s exclusivity deal with Microsoft, the new ‘Escalation’ DLC will be only on Xbox 360 for the first month, and on PS3 and PC later.

Here’s the “leaked” flyer:

Call of Duty Black Ops Escalation DLC Release Date

There was no attached pricing information, but like all of the DLC map packs of the last few Call of Duty titles it will undoubtedly retail for the exorbitant price of $15 or the equivalent amount of Microsoft Points.

It’s not surprise to see the next DLC so soon, as the online lifespan for a Call of Duty lasts only as long as it takes for the next game in the series to debut, with each installment hitting shelves every November.

Are you still playing Black Ops online or have the amount of other first person shooters coming out (and still to come) taking your time away from it?
