Activision has finally pulled the curtain back on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode, revealing a slew of new details about what the new take on the fan favorite game mode will entail. This includes what fans can expect from Black Ops Cold War Zombies post-launch, with all of the DLC maps set to launch at no extra cost to the player.

All Black Ops Cold War Zombies DLC maps will be free, mimicking Modern Warfare's approach to post-launch content. Like Modern Warfare, fans can expect pretty much all of the major post-launch content for Black Ops Cold War to be released for free across the entire game, with cosmetic microtransactions and a Battle Pass for those who want to spend extra. The Black Ops Cold War Battle Pass, by the way, will also unlock content for Zombies, though details on what it will entail specifically were not revealed.

As for what maps will be DLC, that remains to be seen. The Black Ops Cold War Zombies map at launch is a revamped version of Nacht der Untoten called Die Maschine. It's possible there will be more Zombies maps available in Black Ops Cold War on day one, but if so, they have yet to be revealed at the time of this writing.

One persistent rumor about Black Ops Cold War Zombies is that it will have a new version of the TranZit map from Black Ops 2. If that's still the case, it has yet to be revealed in an official capacity. However, that seems like it would make a solid post-launch addition for the Zombies mode.

In fact, it wouldn't be surprising at all to see the most popular Call of Duty Zombies maps added to Black Ops Cold War in the months after launch. After all, Infinity Ward has most Modern Warfare seasonal updates to add popular Call of Duty versus multiplayer maps to that game, so it's quite possible Treyarch will employ a similar strategy when it comes to Black Ops Cold War. And with Die Maschine being a new take on Nacht, it seems as though the precedent has already been set.

There have been plenty of well-received Zombies maps released for past Call of Duty games, so there are quite a few options. Of course, Treyarch may opt to create completely brand new Zombies maps as well, so fans will just have to take a wait and see approach.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
