A major new Zombies experience is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War later this week. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies Outbreak is essentially a large-scale, open world version of Zombies, though specific details on it have been scarce until now. Activision has released a brand new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that shows the highly-anticipated Zombies Outbreak mode in action ahead of its launch on February 25.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies Outbreak takes place across the game's Fireteam maps, with players seemingly able to teleport from one to the other using the Dark Aether portals seen in other Black Ops Cold War Zombies maps. Teams of four will have a variety of objectives to complete as they explore the maps and fight off the undead hordes, all the while utilizing a vast arsenal of weapons and gadgets.

While Zombies Outbreak is a decidedly different take on the Zombies experience, it will share many similar elements with the standard Zombies mode. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies Outbreak trailer confirms the return of the Pack-A-Punch, as well as soda perks that players can purchase from designated vending machines.

Players will be need all the help they can get in Zombies Outbreak, as they will have to deal with rather massive hordes of zombies. The new Death Machine weapon being added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with the Season 2 update will help even the odds, but it should still prove a challenge for players. Fans will find out exactly how this new take on the Zombies experience works out when it launches in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on February 25.

Zombies Outbreak isn't the only thing coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with the Season 2 update on February 25. Season 2 will also add new guns, multiplayer maps, and more to the experience, giving Call of Duty fans more to do across all of the game modes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 means more content for the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale as well. Call of Duty: Warzone is adding a boat Point of Interest that players will be able to visit, and there are rumors that, next month, the entire map of Verdansk may be removed and replaced. Whether or not that comes to pass remains to be seen, but fans should find out way way or the other sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
