Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have found several secrets within Outbreak’s Season 3 content, including a helpful trick that is not meant to be in the game. For now, though, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans can use a Cargo Truck glitch to speed through the Escort objective.

While not as hard as Defend and Holdout, Escort can be a fairly tough Outbreak objective for players to complete. While guiding the experimental rover to the three Dark Aether portals is easy enough on early World Tiers, the objective quick grows more difficult. Once Megatons begin to spawn alongside Tempests that can stop the rover in its tracks, success will require strategy and patience. However, the new Cargo Truck vehicle makes this normally tough objective a breeze.

Part of Outbreak’s Season 3 content update, the bulky Cargo Truck is exactly what it sounds like. A slow vehicle with plenty of health, the Cargo Truck features a large open carriage in space of a trunk. While this is likely intended to give players in the backseat a better chance to fire at their undead foes, Redditor parzival735 showed off a far more useful purpose for the extra space. Parking the truck right where the Escort rover exits its spawn point, the rover moves right onto the back of the truck.

While the truck initially teeters on its side, showing that this is clearly not meant to be in the game, the Call of Duty Zombies fan makes great use of the glitch. Driving straight through each Escort zone, the player can complete the objective far easier than they could without the truck. If players park the truck in the final zone, it will take the rover, allowing the entire Escort objective to be sped up via this buggy strategy.

While it remains to be seen if Treyarch removes the ability with the patch, it is worth noting that the Cargo Truck strategy does have its limits. Players can only pull this trick off if they grab the Outbreak Escort rover right as the objective begins. If they try to catch it in the bed of the truck once it launches into the air, they will see a result like the one in Branton_W’s clip. While the flying truck is funny to see, clearly the glitch needs to be pulled off in a specific way.

Even if this glitch is patched, though, it is just one of several ways to speed up the game in Season 3. From the addition of Ronald Raygun to Word Tier skipping, there are many legitimate ways to get through matches quicker — though it is hard to argue against the Cargo Truck strategy being entertaining.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
