As the holiday season continues to pump out big games, it seems PlayStation is finally beginning to reveal some substantial new details about its lineup for both November and December. Recently, the console manufacturer talked more about Demon's Souls, discussing the game's creation suite and photo mode, while also confirming that Bugsnax would be waiting for PS Plus players getting a PlayStation 5 this month.

The publisher has also recently addressed its exclusive mode in the upcoming multiplayer behemoth Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold Warhighlighting precisely what Zombies Onslaught is. Posted by Activision on the PlayStation Blog, the publisher cites that the upcoming PlayStation 4 and 5 exclusive co-op game mode will see players team up in a "fast-paced Zombies experience."

According to the post, Zombies Onslaught sees players assembled into duos, with the pair tasked with investigating an ethereal orb radiating high-levels of unnatural energy. In each game, the two-man team gets trapped by the orb in ethereal barriers, with a horde of zombies being raised in that area. The primary goal of the mode is to survive the undead onslaught, with players having to kill enough zombies to power the orb, which will then move the players to a new area where they must repeat the process. Much like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's regular Zombie's mode, the longer the players last, the deadlier their enemies get, with Activision promising faster, stronger, and more resilient opponents can be expected as the mode presses on.

Going into the mode, players will be placed in one of several locations, with the areas allegedly all based on the game's other multiplayer maps. They'll also be given their custom loadout, which Activision reveals will be the same one utilized in normal Zombies and multiplayer modes. As for the types of zombies encountered in Zombies Onslaught, the studio hints that there will be "Elite" zombies, which will give players the opportunities to score more points. It warns players not to sleep on them though, as they can supposedly wipe out even the most confident duo in seconds.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is shaping up to be a significant new entry in the iconic multiplayer franchise, with tons of new modes, a substantial campaign, and the enhanced visuals that come with a significant next-gen upgrade. It will be available in a weeks' time, allowing players purchasing an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 this holiday season to see exactly what Call of Duty can do with the enhanced hardware featured in both consoles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
