Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies players have dealt with their fair share of bugs, though the mode has proven to be a bit more polished than the game’s multiplayer. Mauer Der Toten specifically is relatively bug free, though one nasty glitch has been ruining the experience for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players.

The bug in question is tied exclusively to Mauer Der Toten, and it sees players randomly teleporting around the map. Currently, fans have no idea what causes the issue, as theories have range from zombie spawns to connection issues. However, the bug is a huge point of frustration for two big reasons. First, it can be incredibly annoying to be teleported from the underground safe house to the hotel, as the teleportation can take players anywhere and everywhere. However, what is worse is the fact that the teleporting sees players taking damage.

Rather than doing the equivalent of one or two Zombies hits, the teleportation damage brings Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players to the brink of death. Knocking them all the way down to 50 health, they have no chance of surviving if they teleport into some Zombies. Worse, if this bug happens to players who do not have Juggernog, they will be instantly killed by the teleportation. As such, it is essentially game breaking when it happens, as it can last for several seconds and come back at later points in the match.

With the bug also able to insta-kill players by trapping them in walls, it is clearly one of the most frustrating issues that Zombies fans have experienced. Fortunately, Treyarch confirmed that it is working on a solution, as Mauer Der Toten’s teleportation bug is a “known issue.” Thankfully, the developer seems to have figured out the problem quickly, as the Trello page now says that a fix has been released for the issue.

While the page also says that the issue is still being monitored, indicating that further fixes might need to be made, this quick fix is a step in the right direction. The many players that posted clips of the bug will likely be happy to know that the game will no longer insta-kill them, as will the commenters that have claimed it also happened to them. With it even being able to occur during the Valentina boss fight if players are unlucky enough, it was becoming a serious problem for the game’s player base.

With this issue now fixed, hopefully the Wunderfizz glitch bug that is tied to Mule Kick gets squashed next. Once it does, Mauer Der Toten should be completely stable.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
