Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War did a lot of things right with its Zombies mode, and Wonder Weapons are no exception. One of the standouts is Mauer Der Toten’s CRBR-S, and one Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player has brought the gun to the real world.
Featured in Mauer Der Toten, the CRBR-S is unique for a few reasons. The weapon’s default form is an energy pistol that rapidly fires Ray Gun-like shots, with an orb floating around the gun that shoots whenever the player does. There are also three variants of the CRBR-S, with drops resembling a laser, shotgun, and rocket launcher all appearing as players slay the undead. With a futuristic look and so much variety in its forms, the CRBR-S instantly became a hit with fans.
With the CRBR-S being so popular, it makes sense that someone would be determined to make a replica of the gun. Redditor IZA_does_the_art did an incredible job with the prop, as while there are no electronics included, the level of detail is worthy of praise. The detail on the plastic makes it look like metal, and the orange details on the barrel and clip both look great. A few of the included photos even show the sphere moving around the weapon.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players will be familiar with the unique reload of the CRBR-S, with the upper portion of the gun being opened to expel the clip. An awesome touch shows that the fan included this internal magazine, with the clip hidden in the grip of the gun. Considering that the energy rounds of the CRBR-S are impossible to bring to life, the fan compensates with some cheese puffs.
While other Call of Duty Zombies Wonder Weapons have been created in the real world, this one is top-notch. While IZA_does_the_art may not have been able to add the voices of Strauss, Grey, and Carver, everything else about the weapon is spot on. The orb looks terrific, especially in the shots where it appears as if it is floating around the gun, and the fact that the fan made a working reload mechanism is mind-blowing. The post already has over 1,500 upvotes, with the fan deserving that praise and then some.
With other standout Wonder Weapons like the Chrysalax seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as well as the three CRBR-S variants, it will be interesting to see if the fan makes any more replicas. While there will surely be some new Wonder Weapons to see in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies, it will be tough to live up to something as memorable as the CRBR-S.
