Compared to multiplayer, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies has seen a lot less issues, as major bugs have been a lot less prevalent inside the Survival mode. However, it seems like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies fans still have a few things to worry about, with one of them being an odd reappearance from a Black Ops 4 gun.

While many fans have been understandably frustrated about a new PC error code that sees Zombies players unfairly banned, others are obsessing over a new bug that sees the Serket’s Kiss from IX appearing in the game. Otherwise known as the Death of Orion, this living Scorpion was able to paralyze entire hordes of enemies. One of the most instantly recognizable weapons in the history of the mode, one player was quick to grab a screenshot of the weapon.

Held by Redditor xxcolinkingxx’s friend, the Scorpion gun is indeed seen in-game, though the gamers claim that this Wonder Weapon is not properly implemented. Apparently, the gun only shoots puffs of air, does no damage, and lacks any of the effects seen with the original Serket’s Kiss. The subreddit seemed divided as to what was really going on with the weapon, though a few theories began to spread quickly via the post’s comment section.

First, players believe this is another example of Treyarch reusing assets. Close to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's launch, players could see several old images, text, and icons from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. While this being another texture bug would make sense, it would also be the largest slip-up by far, as entire guns have yet to be seen glitching their way into the game. The other possibility is that the image could have been faked, with many pointing to the low-res image and lack of video footage as evidence.

However, xxcolinkingxx has since posted video of the gun showing up in Outbreak. This time playing in the Sanatorium Night region, the player’s friend can once again be seen holding the gun. They also swap the weapon, with Serket’s Kiss not properly animated and instead floating in the air close to the player’s back. While the players are unsure of what caused the bug to happen, the glitch is certainly interesting, as few expected to ever see the Wonder Weapon from IX again.

Still, players should lean on the side of caution regarding an appearance from the gun, as the Dark Aether story has no Chaos connections. Further, with the Chaos story not proving nearly as popular with fans, it seems likely that this weapon is a leftover asset as opposed to a hint at an official return.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
