While there have been a fair number of easter eggs in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies, none have gotten the community as intrigued as those that may be hinting at Zombies Chronicles 2. It seems like the final round-based map in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is keeping hopes alive, too, as Treyarch has seemingly included a reference to TranZit in Forsaken’s latest teaser.

Forsaken is set to release on Thursday, October 7, meaning that players are very close to the new map’s release date. While Call of Duty Zombies fans are obviously excited to learn about The Forsaken and the Requiem director’s identity, the discussion over the past several hours is about a much older map. Specifically, fans are talking about TranZit, the launch map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Treyarch seems to be teasing fans about TranZit once again, as latest image posted by the developer is a post card teasing “Anytown,” the location players will be fighting through in Forsaken. While the area will be familiar to those that played the campaign, as the same base featured in the “Redlight, Greenlight” mission, the location is not the interesting part of this post card. As pointed out by Reddit user SMRAintBad, it is the text used for it.

The same exact yellow text that was seen on the post card from TranZit’s Town is used on this teaser image, and fans are once again seeing it as a reference to the map. While this could have been an example of reused assets, TranZit released nine years ago. As such, this seems deliberate, with Treyarch surely knowing what the card would remind its fans of. With other nods to TranZit seemingly hidden in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, like lava sounds in Die Maschine and bus noises in Outbreak, it is hard to blame fans for getting excited.

If Zombies Chronicles 2 does happen, it seems like Call of Duty: Vanguard could be its destination. Leaker Tom Henderson recently claimed that the maps have been finished for some time now, with Treyarch just waiting for the right time to release them. Call of Duty: Vanguard may be that time, as the insider theorized that they could be releasing alongside that game. For now, gamers will need to be patient, though the continued references are promising.

It is hard to deny the potential of a TranZit remake, and while it is smart to avoid getting overly optimistic, the various nods to the map are adding up. Hopefully, rumors prove true and Call of Duty: Vanguard gives fans access to TranZit and the other Zombies Chronicles 2 remakes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
