After a crazy amount of teases and puzzles, including some weird black crates that contained old projectors, Call of Duty: Balck Ops Cold War is finally in the home stretch of its full reveal. There is still some time between now and when fans will get their first full look at the game, but to hold us over Treyarch and Call of Duty social channels are dropping some extra teases to drive up the hype.

Earlier this month, Activision began sending black crates to streamers and other media members to tease its upcoming entry into the popular first-person shooter franchise. The clues and materials inside started this wild puzzle-solving effort from tons of community members that included deciphering cryptic images and messages, entering codes throughout Call of Duty: Warzone, and watching a website that featured former Presidents and a few history lessons. Ultimately, fans were able to uncover a teaser video for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that included the official logo and reveal date confirmation.

To keep the hype train going after fans exhausted tons of energy to track down information on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch has given fans a look at the box art for the upcoming game. A simple tweet from the studio shows off key art that features an American and Soviet soldier surrounded by propaganda. Accompanying the tweet is the hashtag #BlackOpsColdWar and the date of the game's scheduled reveal, which is set for August 26.

In a related tweet, the Call of Duty Twitter account released a video that features the same imagery and propaganda as the box-art teaser. The video shows pieces of paper ripping apart and overlapping to create the image. Along with the reveal date, this tweet also contains the phrase, "Time is ticking, the danger is real." Which is, presumably, a reference to the Cold War and the time ticking down to a nuclear attack. Sticking with the Cold War and nuclear fallout theme, Warzone players have uncovered a Nuke inside one of the game's bunkers after uncovering a code through the Black Ops Cold War ARG.

There's still less than a week to go before fans get to witness the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War but that hasn't prevented information from leaking out. Recently, a Call of Duty leaker ModernWarzone has been teasing on Twitter that there is a beta for Black Ops Cold War happening in September. In a follow-up tweet, ModernWarzone hints at the game having a release date of November 14. However, November 14 is a Saturday and typically video games don't release during the weekend.

Details on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are still vague ahead of the game's full reveal. For one thing, it's much later in the year than a typical reveal for a Call of Duty game but that could be attributed to the success of Warzone, or the impact of Covid-19, or how the development cycle has changed for the franchise this year. Whatever the reason is, Activision is driving up the hype with its newest title like never before with all these teases and puzzles. Fans are eager to see the full reveal of the game, learning whether or not this Call of Duty will have Zombies, and most importantly when they'll be able to play the game.
