Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has begun revealing details surrounding its upcoming Season 3. While the announcement of new Black Ops Cold War content spans a wide variety of categories, one of the most interesting aspects is the addition of an all-new Scorestreak and vehicle.

Developer Treyarch's latest entry in its Black Ops series is currently in its second season. Rolled out in tandem with the free-to-play Call of Duty: WarzoneBlack Ops Cold War has confirmed its Season 3 start date and time, which is set to launch in just a few days. The current season just finished holding a "Triple-Double" weekend as a sendoff, giving players double XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass XP.

REALTED: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Reveals Six New Weapons Coming in Season 3

Fully detailed in a blog post on Call of Duty's website, the "New Tools of the Trade" should add more dimension to playstyles. The new Scorestreak coming to Black Ops Cold War is called Strafe Run. A mid-tier Scorestreak, the player will be able to call upon a pair of jet fighters to shower lead and rockets down upon the DZ, perfect for racking up kills or holding a line in an area. Strafe Run features a longer active period and higher kill potential than other Scorestreaks like Napalm Strike, making it a solid multiplayer option. Seeing as how Treyarch made major changes to Scorestreaks during its Season 2 update, it'll be interesting to see Strafe Run's point cost.

The new vehicle being added to Call of Duty is the Cargo Truck. Available across Multi-Team modes, the Cargo Truck is a massive vehicle capable of fitting several Operators in its open truck bed, in addition to the driver and copilot seats. While lacking in speed, the truck makes up for in sheer firepower, coming equipped with a mounted machine gun turret that allows a teammate to provide cover against any incoming threats. Players will be able to use the Cargo Truck on Ruka, Alpine, and Golova at launch. Later in the season, the Cargo Truck will be available on Duga, the new region coming to Outbreak and other Multi-Team modes.

The new Scorestreak and vehicle, among many other things, should add plenty of exciting new elements, both to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Interestingly, the Cargo Truck may not be the only new vehicle arriving soon. According to a new leak, eight new vehicles with ties to Black Ops Cold War may be headed to Warzone. The names of the vehicle files should pique the interest of any CoD fan, which include titles like "Big Bird," "Police Car," and "Medical Transport."

While Black Ops Cold War has certainly become one of the most successful Call of Duty titles ever, there is a portion of players who still favor 2019's Modern Warfare. While the game itself has fallen out of the spotlight with time, fans of the game will be pleased to know that none other than Captain Price is coming back as a new Operator for Season 3.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
