Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 added a bunch of new content to the popular FPS, including some new weapons for players to add to their arsenals. This includes a couple of new melee weapons, like a sledgehammer. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have to complete a specific set of challenges to unlock the sledgehammer in the game, but unfortunately, it seems to be glitched right now.

One of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sledgehammer challenges revolve around getting 15 double kills with a knife in separate matches. The issue is that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is resetting players' progress when they get close to finishing the challenge. This forces Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players to start from scratch, making it impossible for them to complete the challenge and unlock the sledgehammer at this time. In other instances, players are told that they have completed all the steps for the challenge, yet still are unable to access the sledgehammer.

At the time of this writing, it's unclear exactly how widespread this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sledgehammer glitch is, but it does seem to be impacting quite a few players. As reported by CharlieIntel, there are many complains online of people who are experiencing this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sledgehammer glitch and are therefore unable to unlock the new weapon.

One possible solution to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sledgehammer glitch has been found by the community. Evidently, as long as players make sure they play through full multiplayer matches, their progress won't reset. Unfortunately, this isn't always possible, as sometimes Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has connection issues that kick players out of matches, or sometimes has them join a match in progress.

Hopefully Treyarch addresses this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War glitch as soon as possible, as it is making it difficult for players to unlock all of the Season 1 weapons. Treyarch is usually pretty quick when it comes to addressing glitches and other issues in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, with updates for the game releasing on a regular basis. Considering this, fans may not have to wait long at all for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sledgehammer glitch to be fixed.

Meanwhile, there are some other Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War glitches that will also hopefully be addressed in future updates by Treyarch. For example, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has the Gunship scorestreak bug that previously plagued Black Ops 4, so it's clear that there's still many issues the game needs to fix in 2021.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
