Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has improved significantly since launch. When it first released, the game was more unpolished than any Call of Duty game that came before it. It also lacked content, with a series’ low multiplayer map count and only one Zombies experience. However, while a rushed development and struggles brought on by COVID-19 contributed to the latest Black Ops game’s issues, the game’s many Seasons have helped it become a quality Call of Duty title.

Several maps, Operators, weapons, modes, and more have come during these Seasons, and Season 6 looks as if it will be no different. While Zombies fans in particular have a lot to look forward to, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 6 is poised to be a nice sendoff to the game for all kinds of players. For those looking to spend a bit more time with the Treyarch-made title before hopping into Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty: Vanguard, here is everything that will be coming in the final Season of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 6 Zombies Content

While Season 6 is set to deliver the last round-based for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies, that is not all it is bringing to the table. First and foremost, it is worth noting that PlayStation users will be getting access to a new map for Zombies Onslaught. Specifically, the trippy new multiplayer play space Deprogram will be brought over to the exclusive mode. Onslaught Elite will also feature, which sees every single surge spawning a mini boss. A new blueprint will be tied to this mode, with players needing to complete 20 waves to unlock it.

Still, the real star of the show is undoubtedly Forsaken, which drops when the Season begins on October 7. The end to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War chapter of the Dark Aether story, the map will see players fighting the undead in Anytown, U.S.A. This secret Russian base featured in the campaign and is meant to be a training facility for Russian soldiers, as it mimics an American city that they could have ended up fighting through. A new mini boss and melee-focused Wonder Weapon will appear in this map, with the story set to answer some major questions fans have had for months now.

A new perk will be added in Season 6 as well. PhD Slider, a variant of PhD Flopper, will be making its debut. While it sees players doing damage while sliding just like in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, it boasts the logo and jingle from Flopper. Its upgrade tiers also give players explosive immunity and creates an explosion when falling from heights, meaning it will combo very well with Stamin-Up. Though its machine will be exclusive to Forsaken, PhD Slider will be available through the Wunderfizz in both Outbreak and the older Survival maps.

Two new items will be craftable in Zombies once Season 6 arrives, too. The Hand Cannon scorestreak from multiplayer will be added, and it should be able to penetrate through a horde of undead with ease. The other item is an ARC-XD, a variant of the iconic RC-XD that has an aetherium crystal attached. The vehicle will attract the undead and pulse regularly, with every pulse killing some enemies. It can also reach closed off areas, so it will likely have several uses when it comes to Forsaken’s easter eggs and quests.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 6 Multiplayer Content

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer fans will also have a fair bit of content to enjoy. This includes three brand-new multiplayer maps, and one exciting thing about them is that they all drop on the first day of the Season. The most interesting of the bunch is undoubtedly Deprogram, as it takes place inside the fractured mind of Russel Adler.

Players get to see what was going through the character’s head inside this map, making it the most over-the-top inclusion in the game by far. They will use Call of Duty: Warzone’s red doors as fast travel points, with everything from crashed helicopters and The Pines mall’s arcade machines scattered throughout the map. Overall, it takes on a unique look that is reminiscent of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 map Infection, which saw a city flipped on its side and certain parts of the map floating.

Amerika is another 6v6 map, and once again it takes place in the secret Russian base that that doubles as a training facility. This version looks a lot like the one from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s campaign as opposed to Forsaken, with players able to fight through Burger Town and some buildings. There will also be areas on the block that favor Snipers, ensuring that the map embraces all kinds of different playstyles. The final map is a Gunfight location named Gluboko, and it takes place inside of the KGB Headquarters’ Vault - another remodeled campaign area.

Alongside these three new maps, the five weapons and Operators that are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone will also be usable in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This includes the beloved protagonist Alex Mason and a new Perseus agent named Fuze. The weapons include the .410 Rawhide Shotgun, Grav Assault Rifle, and Battle Axe melee weapon, with all three available at launch. The Hammer and Sickle Melee weapon and LAPA SMG will become available in-season.

The final four Prestige levels for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will also be added in Season 6. While 27 is an odd place to end a game’s number of Prestiges, at least players can now hit the game’s final Prestige Master level. If they have completed the other five Seasons before hitting level 200 in this one, they will have all six stars on their profile banners. A new Weapon Blueprint will be unlockable at level 50, with extra Prestige Shop items being added as well. As always, players can level up inside of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone, too. With Call of Duty: Vanguard right around the corner, it will be interesting to see if the count starts at 0 or if players continue leveling at Prestige 28.

With some Haunting of Verdansk content coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on October 19 as well, the event and Season 6 should help the latest Black Ops go out on a positive note.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
