Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have been waiting for news on Season 3 for some time now, and today, Treyarch covered everything that will be coming in the next big update. For fans of multiplayer, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 3 will be bringing four new maps to enjoy.

The first map will be Yamantau, a brand-new location centered on the iconic Call of Duty: Black Ops campaign location. The snowy Russian observatory rests atop a mountain and offers a mix of indoor bunkers and outdoor locations to fight through. Specifically, the map will allow players to fight through a “downed satellite dish,” with zipline mechanics and catwalks allowing gamers to gain an advantage. The map will be exclusive to 6v6 play.

Another 6v6 map addition is seen with Diesel, a desert-based map that sees players battling around a central gas station location. The unique setting also doubles as a 2v2 and 3v3 map, seemingly ensuring that it will be one of the smallest 6v6 maps in the game. With maps like Miami Strike, Crossroads Strike, and Nuketown always proving to be popular with Call of Duty players, this fully original map could quickly find itself becoming a fan favorite.

While both Yamantau and Diesel will be available  as soon as Season 3 launches, two of the map additions will be coming in-season. One of the Season 3 Reloaded additions will be the remastered map Standoff, one of the locations that was rumored to be coming in the game's third Season. One of several Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 remasters, Standoff remains one of the most recognizable and enjoyable maps in the entire franchise. As such, many will likely be happy to see it come to 6v6 modes in Season 3.

The final multiplayer map addition for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is none other than Duga. This area should be familiar to fans of the game’s campaign, as it featured in the bad ending of the story. Duga will double as a new Outbreak location, giving players the chance to gun down Zombies in the woodland area. There will be several small offices to fight through as well as the massive satellite array, which seems like a perfect position for snipers. A chemical processing plant and bus depot will also feature in this huge Fireteam location.

With fans sharing their disappointment with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 2 maps, as only one 6v6 location was added, it seems like Treyarch has heard these complaints. Not only will three 6v6 maps be added to the game this Season, but two of them will be playable as soon as it launches.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
